Allseas ‘Pieter Schelte’ Project

The Pieter Schelte project being undertaken for the Allseas Group, the leading international offshore pipelaying contractor, commenced with a contract to assist with the concept development and structural & outfit engineering of a new-build vessel intended for installation and decommissioning of large fixed offshore platforms and deepwater pipeline installations. With dimensions of 370m length, 117m width and 30m depth, and a maximum displacement of over 800,000 ton, it will be the world’s largest offshore vessel. Swan Hunter has a team of in-house engineers working on the project to finalise the Clients initial concept, review the detailed design and finalise the specifications to enable the design to be submitted to shipyards for firm tenders.
